Nose
Intensely sherried with cacao, cherry, blackberry, wine vinegar, lacquered wood, coffee and a bit of smoke. Also notes of toasted caramel, crème brûlée, butterscotch, and toffee.
Palate
Cherries (sweet and sour), raisins, citrus, balsamico, dark chocolate, some tannins, mushrooms and sulphur. Spicy with touches of clove, cinnamon candies, toasted caramel, dried flowers, and a touch of butterscotch.
Finish
Reminiscent of Schwarzwalder kirsch. Earthy notes (mushrooms again!), dried herbs, pecan nuts, more sulphur and a whiff of smoke. Long and slightly dry with dried flowers and lingering spices.
