Description

This outstanding, long-aged 54 year old Speyside single malt was distilled at Glen Grant on the 8th March 1965 and bottled for Gordon & MacPhail's Private Collection range on the 19th December 2019. Filled from single refill sherry butt number 1676 at a natural cask strength 42.9% ABV, this uber-exclusive release is one of just 336 decanters that comes housed in a beautifully crafted wooden presentation case with tasting notes and COA insert. It is a superb example of 1960s Glen Grant from the Gordon & MacPhail warehouses, aged in a single refill sherry butt, which has allowed the spirit to develop elegantly over the decades.

Nose
A basket laden with windfall apples. Aromas of clementine and vibrant orange sit upon intense polished oak. Touches of vanilla begin to come through with flashes of nutmeg and cinnamon.
Palate
Creamy; sweet oak tannins offer balance to candied orange and tonka bean. Decadent rose and jasmine flavours emerge with a subtle eucalyptus edge.
Finish
Sweetness working in harmony with dashes of white pepper. Delicate herbal elements remain, slowly fading into eucalyptus.
