Description

A Speyside malt distillery that was originally built as a brewery in 1828 before converting to whisky production in 1897. It was an important part of the Macdonald & Muir portfolio in the 20th century, however as of 2008 has been owned by the La Martinquaise division of COFEPP in France. This is a specially selected long-aged Glen Moray from the 1960 vintage, bottled in 1987 at 26 years old by the distillery.

Nose
Lively and aromatic with citrus, fresh wood shavings, apple peel, and toffee, or Speyside sweetness with untamed fruitiness like gooseberries and green apples.
Palate
Light and crisp with immediate sweetness, followed by a balancing tartness, vanilla, toffee apples, and creamy custard.
Finish
A dry, gentle finish with soft spice, though some note it falls a bit flat but is nothing off-putting.
