Description

A malt distillery located on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highland region. Part of the Diageo group, the distillery is one of only a few in Scotland that are self-sufficient in terms of malt, and its single malt has been bottled under various guises over the years, most recently as The Singleton. This 38-year-old expression is a rare and irresistibly rich single malt from The Singleton of Glen Ord, created by Master Blender Maureen Robinson. It underwent a 26-year secondary maturation in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Pedro Ximénez sherry, and virgin American oak casks, making it the longest secondary maturation in The Singleton's history. Only 1,689 bottles were released globally.

Silky and creamy with milk chocolate, Christmas spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, mace, all-spice), baked apple, caramelised pear, apricot jam, fudge, tropical fruit notes, malted cereal, wood spices (cedarwood, sandalwood), leather, coffee grounds, beeswax polish, old cigar box, orange citrus, vanilla ice cream, caramel fudge, a trace of salt, and Szechuan pepper warmth.
