Description

A Speyside malt distillery that is owned by the Chivas Brothers division of Pernod Ricard. Since first acquired by Hiram Walker in 1930, the distillery has been essential to the Ballantine's blends and very little of its production has ever been spared for bottling as single malt. An iconic Italian importer and independent bottler, founded in 1968 by Silvano Samaroli.

Nose
Lots of vanilla, lemon, fresh ginger, black pepper, tarragon, pears, a hint of sea salt, a bit of waxiness.
Palate
Creamy vanilla, lemon, fresh ginger, black pepper, golden apples, waxy, somewhat herbal (that tarragon note again), sea salt. Mild and easygoing, while also well balanced and elegant.
Finish
A hint of black pepper, lemon, vanilla, tarragon, golden apples, waxy, fresh ginger, sea salty/mineraly. Smooth and easygoing, though the pepper, lemon and mineral/salty notes linger a while.
