Description

One of the four signature malts of Ballantine's blended whisky, Glenburgie began life in 1810 but was completely rebuilt in 2004. Just two years later, two more stills were added. The distillery made history in 1927 when it appointed a female distillery manager, Margaret Nicol. This 18-year-old single malt was first introduced in 2019 under the Ballantine's label and is matured in bourbon casks.

Sweet and fruity, with notes of red apples, red berries, honeycomb, vanilla fudge, orange marmalade, dried apricot, figs, oak spice, jasmine, ylang-ylang, lemon peel, lime, citrus, caramel, herbal notes, earthiness, honey, and faint baby talc.
Palate
Fruity notes of sweet orange, blackcurrants, pineapple, lemon peel, lime rind, passionfruit, toffee, honey, vanilla, coconut essence, cocoa, nutmeg, and a creamy honey texture. Medium body and sweetness, with a slight spice.
Finish
Rounded and long-lasting, with dried fruits, dark chocolate, warming spice, silky sweetness, coconut flake, coffee notes, cocoa nibs, vanilla, caramel, honey glazed apples, and a complex, chewy character.
