Description
A Speyside malt distillery that is owned by the Chivas Brothers division of Pernod Ricard. Since first acquired by Hiram Walker in 1930, the distillery has been essential to the Ballantine's blends and very little of its production has ever been spared for bottling as single malt. An independent bottling brand founded in 2021 by a trio of retailers: Kyoto Fine Wine & Spirits in Japan, and Duckhamm. Glenburgie is known for its light and fruity style, with the new make spirit having cereal and green apple notes, evolving towards tropical fruits in older expressions. Most of its production is used for blended whiskies like Ballantine's, making single malt bottlings rare and often from independent bottlers.
