Description

An Irish single malt whiskey from Glendalough Distillery, aged for 13 years. This expression was initially matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before undergoing a finishing period of up to a year in rare Japanese Mizunara oak puncheons sourced from the Ariake cooperage in Japan. While Glendalough Distillery produces its own gin and other spirits, the whiskey for this release was sourced from Cooley Distillery. It is bottled at 46% ABV.

Palate
Creamy, sweet and spicy. Oak, sandalwood, ginger, clove, nutmeg. Milk chocolate, honey, nutty (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pecan, Brazil nuts). Peach, nectarine, orange peel, marmalade, coconut. Vanilla fudge, rock candy.
Finish
Spicy, oaky, milk chocolate, sandalwood, resin. Long with notes of coffee bean, honey, and dark chocolate. Some grapefruit and a slight bitterness.
