Description
In 1826 the exuberant and extroverted James Allardice, along with a consortium of local farmers, founded the distillery and began producing his "Guid GlenDronach" single malt. Unfortunately Allardice's marketing strategy of offering free drams to Edinburgh's "ladies of night", coupled with a fire at the distillery in 1837, led to him declaring bankruptcy. This is a UK Exclusive single cask Glendronach 1990 Highland single malt whisky bottled at full cask strength in 2013 without colouring or chill filtration. This 23-year-old Glendronach 1990 came from Cask 1240, a Pedro Ximenez sherry puncheon that yielded a generous 647 bottles at its ideal natural cask strength of 50.8%.
