Nose
Stewed pears enriched with cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Lovely aged Oloroso personality creates a distinctive luxurious feel, with notes of rich dried fruits, dark chocolate, orange peel, warming sweet spice, old leather, eucalyptus, chocolate, Christmas cake, Demerara rum, prunes, black raisins, and old roses.
Palate
Full-bodied with excellent refinement. Ripe figs, dates, candied walnuts, and a defined Sherry presence, coupled with chocolate orange syrup. Notes of raisin, toffee, cocoa, oak spice, roasted nuts, deep fruity notes (raspberry, blackcurrant, prunes), liquorice, mentholated notes, cinnamon, clove, and hints of Turkish coffee.
Finish
Quite unique, rich, and long-lasting, with some wood, figs, walnuts, and spices. Long, warming, and gently spiced, with lingering fruit and oak.
