Nose
A robust combination of rich prune syrup and blackberry jam with deep dunnage characters, sweetened by hints of mocha and a dusting of cinnamon. Old wood benches, varnish, cinnamon, clove, cardamom, with the right balance of dried fruit: dates, figs and a hint of mint and pine needles and licorice.
Palate
Intense treacle toffee floods over sour plums and roasted coffee. Harmonising waves of leather and tobacco give great depth and are balanced by a subtle toasted walnut and date back note. Elegant and quite balanced. Dried fruit and old oak. Pepper and sweet plum jam. Cinnamon and zest. Chocolate and chilly.
Finish
Dark chocolate sprinkled with pepper and cinnamon. Old wood varnish with date and plum paste. Very long, with some wood, figs, walnuts and spices.
