Despite its closure, its maltings are still active under ownership of Pauls Malt. This Glenesk 12 Year Old is an old bottling from the 1980s, a period when the distillery was licensed to William Sanderson & Sons Ltd.

Still, the stated character seems approachable without making it sound flat.
