Description

Considered among the finest of the Speyside malt distilleries and one of the few of its age to still be family-owned. J&G Grant became its sole shareholders in 1898 and continue to run it in a traditional manner, notably using direct-fired stills to create a rich, weighty spirit.

Nose
Aromas of crème brûlée to start, with the crisp, freshly baked crust giving way to reveal Madeira-soaked raisins, dried fruit and a hint of freshly whipped cream.
Palate
On the palate, with toffee and sweet raisins leading to a spicy fruitcake come rum & raisin fudge & dark chocolate.
Finish
Ginger cake, speculaas biscuits, blackcurrant and dried fruit cake and spiced fruit loaf linger on the finish.
