Description

This exceptional Glenfarclas release comes from a single sherry cask laid down on 1 January 2000. After 24 years of careful ageing in oak, it showcases a sophisticated and mature profile, reflecting the classic character of this esteemed Speyside distillery. Rich aromas of hazelnuts, walnuts, and aged sherries give way to layers of sweetness, including apricot, dark fruits, and toffee. As the third instalment in the Decanter series, this single cask whisky pays tribute to the five generations that have safeguarded the Glenfarclas legacy.

Nose
The Sherry aromas come through immediately. Nutty, sweet, cognac vapours. Woody notes of all spice, cinnamon, nutmeg with hints of fresh Seville oranges, evoking Christmas in a glass.
Palate
Sherry is the main player. Layers of Seville oranges dipped in sweet dark chocolate, with dark fruits dancing around the palate, balancing alcohol and old wood.
Finish
Extremely long and lingering. Dominant oak, dry and almost bitter, with dark cocoa notes and less sweet baking spices.
