Description

The Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Reserva Rum Cask Finish is a prestigious Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, patiently matured for 21 years in traditional American Oak casks at the Glenfiddich distillery. Rather than bottling it, Malt Master Brian Kinsman hand-picks selected barrels for a sublime finishing touch. It is then decanted into hand-selected Caribbean rum casks for an additional four months, infusing the whisky with spicy warmth and indulgent toffee sweetness, and awakening it with exotic notes of ginger, fig, lime, and banana. This results in an exquisite, traditional Speyside whisky, rich and ripe with Glenfiddich's signature notes.

Nose
Intense vanilla and sweet notes, floral, hints of banana, figs, rich toffee, new leather and oak. Some caramel, honey, barley, raisins, grapes, chocolate, nectarines, melons, green pepper, nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon.
Palate
Initially soft, then brisk, vibrant and drying. Gentle spiciness, white pepper, sweet honey, oak, butterscotch, nutty, very rich. Complex flavours of toffee and spice combine with warm oak and a hint of smoke. Caramel, tropical fruit (banana, pineapple, kiwi, lime, ginger), molasses, vanilla, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and cooked pears.
Finish
Very long, warming, dry and spicy. Medium length, soft, honey, oak spices, white pepper, nuts, caramel, damp wood. Lingering hints of oak, baking spices, brown sugar, tropical characters, pineapple, banana, and a citrusy zing.
