Glenglassaugh Distillery, overlooking the breathtaking shores of Sandend Bay on Scotland's Moray Firth coast, lay silent and dormant for over 20 years. The distillery restarted production in 2008 and now Glenglassaugh Single Malt is once again available to Single Malt Scotch Whisky lovers everywhere. At Glenglassaugh, batches of spirit are produced from richly peated malted barley, dried over peat fires, giving it a Highland peat and a natural smoky flavour. Master Blender Rachel Barrie has carefully chosen a small number of port casks to finish maturing this peated Glenglassaugh Single Malt Scotch Whisky. During this secondary maturation, the whisky interacts with the wood, and both the colour and character evolve, deepening with time. The port casks add notes of fresh red fruits and a rich sweetness, layered with the lush and tropical character of Glenglassaugh. It is non chill filtered & natural colour.
