Midway along the coastal road between Sandend and Portsoy stands Glenglassaugh Distillery. Nose
Almond oil, creme caramel, toffee, and burnt toast with milk chocolate. Followed by oranges and prunes. There's a hint of Earl Grey tea. Rum raisins, some cream and almonds too.
Palate
Dried fruits like raisins, prunes and dates, combined with lemons and oranges. A nice sweet layer from brown sugar, milk chocolate, cream and caramel. It's a nice mix of sweet and sour, the citrus aspect works great here.
Finish
The finish is long with some of the rum aspects again. Caramel, creme brulee and almonds, mixed with spices.
