Description
The first new release from Glenglassaugh following the distillery's resurrection, distilled on the 16th of December 2008 and bottled on the very same day in 2011. The Glenglassaugh Distillery was mothballed from 1986 until 2008. The very first cask, a refill butt, that was filled on the first cask filling day in 2008, was emptied and refilled into two smaller casks on December 16, 2010. These smaller casks were a first-fill ex-Pedro Ximenez (PX) sherry hogshead and a first-fill ex-Palo Cortado sherry hogshead. On September 16, 2011, the whiskies were bottled. This malt distillery is located outside the village of Portsoy in the eastern Highland region. This release is a distillery milestone, being the first sherry butt (#1) filled after Glenglassaugh's 2008 restart, bottled to mark the renaissance. It offers a rare glimpse of ultra-young Glenglassaugh, balancing crisp coastal freshness with early sherry richness. Limited to 400 individually numbered bottles.
