A Highland malt distillery located in Dumgoyne, a small village to the north of Glasgow. For over a century it was synonymous with the blenders, Lang Brothers, however it was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2003 and has been transformed into a highly-regarded single malt brand. Nose
A French picnic: warm croissants with apple tart, buttery pastries and crispy bacon. Then came the aromas of a summer meadow, elderflower and honeydew. Coconut, marzipan and watermelon followed by a hint of ginger and cinnamon.
Palate
The palate was a delightful mix of sweet and savoury. Honeycomb, lemon curd, vanilla ice cream and strawberries in thick vanilla custard. Pear compote with cinnamon, rose syrup and a satisfied charcuterie board.
Finish
Long and satisfying with a lingering sweetness and a touch of spice.
