Description

A Highland malt distillery located in Dumgoyne, a small village to the north of Glasgow. For over a century it was synonymous with the blenders, Lang Brothers, however it was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2003 and has been transformed into a highly-regarded single malt brand.

Nose
Heavy and robust with hazelnut, prunes, cocoa powder, liquorice, and BBQ spice. Sweet and creamy notes of chocolate éclairs, vanilla, and crème brulee, evolving into mulchy forest floor, prune, grape, and cherry juice, Demerara rum, and bananas.
Palate
Powerful and balanced with vanilla fudge, red apple, raisins, wafer cone, and subtle citrus. It becomes spicier and drier with malt loaf, pine honey, ginger, cinnamon, and fennel seeds, alongside oakiness and liquorice.
Finish
Lingering with notes of liquid raisin juice, increased fruits, and dry spice, a mildly pleasant drying mouthfeel, spearmint, and Juicy Fruit chewing gum.
