Description

Sitting on the Highland/Lowland border, Glengoyne distills its whisky in the Highlands and matures it in the Lowlands. Founded in 1833, the distillery is now owned by Ian MacLeod distillers which champions its slow distillation process and a complete lack of peat, as well as a rigorous approach to its sherry cask selection. This Glengoyne 2013 Single Cask #294 is a Taiwan Exclusive release, matured in an extremely rare first-fill European oak sherry single cask, showcasing the power and depth of European oak sherry casks with a well-defined and rich body.

Rich and velvety like dark chocolate, creamy texture, medium body, sweet red berries, leather, nuts, gingerbread, spices, fruit pastilles, creamy floral honey, citrus peel, lemon peel, coffee candy, dark chocolate, malt, creamy toffee, dried plums, cranberries, some tannins, thick and rich sherry.
Finish
Long finish full of woody flavors, reminiscent of the warm breath from an old oak barrel, rich plum, citrus peel, lemon peel, leather, mixed floral honey, red grapes, lingering in the mouth, with some dry tannins.
