Description
Sitting on the Highland/Lowland border, Glengoyne distills its whisky in the Highlands and matures it in the Lowlands. Founded in 1833, under the name Burnfoot, the distillery is now owned by Ian MacLeod distillers which champions its slow distillation process and a complete lack of peat, as well as a rigorous approach to its sherry cask selection. The distillery selects its own trees in Spain. This limited edition Glengoyne 2009 The Wetlands Single Cask is drawn from a refill sherry butt, cask #190257, distilled in 2009 and bottled at 61.1% ABV. It is a charity whisky supporting the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, with a distinctive illustration by artist Elin Manon.
