Description

A Diageo malt distillery located in the Lowland region of Scotland. Despite quietly producing fillings for blended Scotch for the majority of its history, it emerged as a single malt brand in 1988 when United Distillers assigned it as one the six Classic Malts of Scotland. This Glenkinchie 27 Year Old, named 'The Floral Treasure', is part of Diageo's Special Releases 2023 series, themed 'Spirited Xchange'. It is one of the oldest official Glenkinchie bottlings and was matured in refill American and European oak casks.

Nose
Mellow, floral grassiness with citrus notes of orange and apple juice, flaked almonds, vanilla, elderflower, cookie dough, peaches, toasted almonds, apricot, pear, and green banana.
Palate
Smooth and airy texture, initially sweet with developing citrus acidity, orchard fruit, vanilla, malty smoothness, chalky and waxy mouthfeel, oaky spiciness, fudge, ginger, crème brûlée, and orange marmalade.
Finish
Long and delicate with floral tones, warm with slight spice, lingering cinnamon and pepper, oak tannins, char, sweeter notes like honey, and a touch of aniseed.
