Description
The Glenlivet 15 Year French Oak Reserve Single Malt is known for its rich and exotic character, derived from a process of selective maturation where a portion of the spirit is matured in French oak casks. The Glenlivet was one of the first distilleries to use French oak for whisky maturation, a technique now widely imitated. The Limousin oak, sourced from France's Dordogne region, is often used for maturing cognacs. Its low density allows the whisky to penetrate deep into the wood, imparting a unique and pleasing spiciness without overpowering the spirit. The whisky is initially matured in used bourbon barrels before a finishing period in the French oak.
