Description

The Glenlivet French Oak Reserve 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that gains its distinctive character from a process of selective maturation. A portion of the spirit is initially matured in very used bourbon barrels and then finished in new French Limousin oak casks, sourced from France's Dordogne region, which are also used for maturing Cognacs. This finishing period imparts a unique, pleasing spiciness and a richer, creamier profile to the whisky. The Glenlivet was one of the first distilleries to utilize French oak for whisky maturation.
