Nose
Big notes of roasted chestnuts and other nuts, old rancio, honey-coated baked fruits, walnuts, raisins, marmalade, touches of iron, sulphur, cedar wood, pipe tobacco, tropical fruits like mango and papaya, honey, ripe apples, and a beehive-y profile. Lush and fruity, creamy chocolate orange, rum and raisins, with a warm spicy lingering finale.
Palate
Heavy raisins and spices, mulled wine, caramel, bitter oranges, pepper. Fine, honeyed, rounded, raisiny, brioche-y and orangey, with walnuts. Sweet, fruity pear and zesty orange flavors, with a spicy orange marmalade tang, slightly dry, well balanced and exceptionally smooth.
Finish
Long, rounded, with notes of spice cake. Quite long, spicy, a little bittersweet and even a little sour. Marzipan and fresh hazelnuts.
