Description

One of the best-known names in Speyside, The Glenlivet distillery was founded in 1824 and is today a major single malt brand globally. This 28-year-old Glenlivet was distilled in 1974 and independently bottled by Murray McDavid for their Mission series. Murray McDavid is known for bottling exceptional single malts without chill-filtering or adding colour, and for coining the term "ACE-ing" (additional cask enhancement) in relation to their cask finishing process.

Nose
Incredibly complex, subtle aromas of vanilla, honey, marshmallow, tropical fruit (pineapple, peaches, coconut), floral notes and a hint of almonds. Also, soft yellow fruit and flower scents, with a trace of pencil eraser; delicate aromas of malt, wood chips and wet earth.
Palate
Medium-full in body, and firm. Flavors are complex and exhibit the same notes as the aroma, starting out gently sweet, but gradually becoming fruity. Oily texture and a taste of unsweetened breakfast cereal; the ultra-dry flavor profile leans heavily to the malt aspect while the texture turns creamy and silky smooth.
Finish
Drying out on the finish.
