Nose
Raisins, toffee, fig jam, winey notes, and a bit of almond. Also madeira cake in red wine.
Palate
Thick and chewy mouthfeel with raisins, soft caramels, toffee, and dried cherries. Jammy with black cherries, sticky brown sugar, mulling spices, dark chocolate, and spiced orange segments. With water, toffee popcorn, fudge, orange fondant, grape must, sherry flor, cherry wood, Chanterais melon, and churros dipped in caramel.
Finish
Peppery, cinnamon red hots, astringent, a sour aspect from dry sherry wine, and bitterness. With water, less of this, more simple wood and almonds.
