Description

A Highland malt distillery formerly located in Fort William. Founded in 1898, it became American-owned by National Distillers in 1937 before being sold to the Distillers Company in the 1950s who operated it in two stints until closing it down for good in 1983. It was sold and demolished in 1991. This is an independent bottling by Gordon & MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice series, one of Scotland's most iconic and long-running independent bottling brands.

Nose
Candied and floral, like a bag of sugar, waxed flower petal nibs. Iris, lavender, and violets. A drop of lemon oil amid orange blossom honey. Faint hint of oak, very soft. Spun sugar. (with water) Bright and more pronounced malt. Still honeyed and floral. Really a lovely and magnificent nose.
