Description

Having slumbered in a single, first-fill sherry hogshead for almost half a century, this venerable Glenlossie was bottled in the spring of 2019 for Gordon & MacPhail's Private Collection at 47.6% ABV. Notes of ancient, polished wood glide amongst and support bittersweet cocoa flavours, hints of rich coffee and ribbons of soft, malty sweetness. A dignified dram of impressive depth, limited to just 91 bottles worldwide.

Initial aromas of beeswax polish and confection banana. Subtle extinguished bonfire notes evolve into mixed spice – ginger and nutmeg. Bitter dark chocolate complements treacle toffee.
Palate
Soft and mouth-warming; rich dark chocolate with velvety caramel. Flavours of espresso coffee linger with comforting malted chocolate.
Finish
Satisfying dark chocolate mocha with a slightly drying mouth-feel. Hints of molasses remain with flashes of mature oak.
