Description

A Highland malt distillery located near Tain along the Dornoch Firth. It was founded in 1843 and is today owned along with Ardbeg by the French multinational, LVMH. The distillery's primary focus is its single malt brand, renowned for being produced using Scotland's tallest pot stills. Glenmorangie Artein is the third release in the acclaimed Private Edition series, launched in 2011. This 15-year-old single malt is crafted from a blend of two parts 15-year-old whisky and one part 21-year-old whisky, matured in Bourbon casks and finished in 'Super Tuscan' Sassicaia red wine casks from Italy. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV.

Apple, red berry fruits, stewed fruits, Manuka honey, peppermint, strawberry jam, custard, with hints of Madeira wood, potpourri, black pepper, honeysuckle, mint, dark chocolate, peach, apricot, and citrus.
Palate
Creamy, malty and sweet, with notes of stewed peaches, plums, apple, rhubarb crumble, rich honey, vanilla spice, molasses, Campari, parma violets, white pepper, chocolate orange, espresso coffee, and a tart citrus kick.
Finish
Decent length, with notes of chocolate orange, Victoria sponge, custard, lingering dough, jam, clove, and a hint of menthol and coffee.
