The shift from fresh fruit skins and almondy cherry pits to a marshmallow-like, malty palate gives this a pleasing change of pace. Earthy notes and a finish of sandalwood, walnut and salt keep the sweetness from being the whole story.

The ex-bourbon and Port Pipe cask details give this a clear point of interest. The notes move from fresh fruit and almondy cherry pits to earthy malt, then finish with sandalwood, walnut and salt. That sounds lively but grounded.

Fruit and malt lead into earthy, nutty notes, with sandalwood and walnut at the finish. That shift gives it more going on than a straightforward fruity malt; smoke isn’t what the documented character emphasizes.
