Description

A bottle of Glenmorangie 18 Year Old Highland single malt Scotch whisky, part of Glenmorangie's Prestige Range. The whisky spent its first 15 years maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. Approximately 30% of the spirit was then transferred to Oloroso sherry casks for a finishing period of three years, while the remaining portion continued to age in bourbon casks. After a total of 18 years, the whiskies were reunited and bottled in 2016 at 43% ABV. This results in a thick, creamy, and fruity single malt.

Rich, rounded, and sweet with dried fruit (sultanas, orchard fruit, figs, dates), floral notes (complex floral fragrance, jasmine, lemon blossom), honey, toffee, caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, citrus (tangerine, orange peel), nuts, and a hint of oak and char.
Palate
Tropical and creamy with nectarines in yoghurt, peaches in cream, butterscotch, acacia honey, sweet vanilla, dried fruit (sultanas, orchard fruit), toffee, marmalade, caramelized orange, and a spicy, sparkling oak with some herbs.
Finish
Long and enticing with the sweetness of dried fruit, subtle dryness of Oloroso nuttiness, tangy oak, grilled grapefruit, dark sugar, butter, chocolate, and citrus peel.
