Description

Initially matured in American oak casks, Glenmorangie Madeira Wood Finish has been racked into selected Madeira drums for extra ageing in the final period of its maturation. Glenmorangie is a Highland malt distillery founded in 1843, renowned for being produced using Scotland's tallest pot stills. This expression was part of Glenmorangie's pioneering wood finish range.

Nose
Sweet and sticky aromas, with hints of fresh, tangy citrus, dates and plums, stewed fruits, apple sauce and pepper. Dried fruits, raisins, honey, and caramel, complemented by subtle notes of spice, candied orange, and a hint of vanilla. Chocolate, chocolate orange, malt, dried apricots.
Palate
Butterscotch, manuka honey, malt and fruit gums, apple juice, caramel, salted butter and chocolate. Balanced and rich, with a silky texture that carries flavors of ripe fruits, roasted nuts, and candied fruits. Some malty and chocolate sweetness, a small hit of spice, orange/citrus notes.
Finish
Long and warming, leaving lingering notes of dried fruits and an elegant woody touch. Long and spiced, creamy and very fruity. Short, with caramel note. Medium-short, winey sweetness, oak, copper and some stale dried fruit fade out.
