Description

Glenmorangie Pride 1974 is a 41-year-old single malt, the third and oldest expression in the distillery's prestigious Pride series to date. Distilled on October 30, 1974, the whisky matured for over four decades in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It was bottled in 2016 at 52% ABV under the direction of Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's Director of Distilling and Whisky Creation. This limited edition release consists of just 503 crystal decanters, designed by Laurence Brabant, and presented in a lacquered cherrywood veneer box.

Nose
Salted caramel toffee and chocolate truffles dance with Turkish delight, rum-and-raisin ice cream and a hint of aged balsamic vinegar. With water, warm brioche, yeast flour, ginger-snap biscuits, gentle blood orange, baked bread, and cedar wood emerge.
Palate
A soft, gentle mouthfeel leads to astonishing vibrancy of baked apples, oranges, honey and menthol. Then toffee comes forth, balanced by molasses, double cream, spicy clove and aniseed.
Finish
Lingering and gently soothing, with pecan nuts, leather, fudge, and creamy caffè latte.
