- Nose
- Inviting and very orange – Jaffa Cakes and marmalade – initially. Stone fruits emerge too, think tinned peaches and nectarines, as well as banana bread, caramel shortbread, Brazil nuts, oak char, and a flowery perfumed quality. Citrus and ripening peaches are balanced by vanilla softness.
- Palate
- Soft and a little chalky, but also thick and tongue-coating in texture. More orange and vanilla at its core, then comes apricot, dark chocolate, floral honeysuckle, lemon drop, pepper, and a warm, cosy flavour of pastries from a pâtisserie. Vanilla with a lovely gentle spiced edge leads along with some lovely orange citrus, a little toasted oak and honey and a wee touch of Demerara sugar sweetened coconut ice. A burst of flowery fruitiness. Sweet and creamy with honey and pleasant nuttiness up front, with citrus pith and white peach.
- Finish
- Crisp and almost a little tart with tropical fruit sweetness, green apple, chalky minerality, and honey. Short to medium. Creamy vanilla, a touch of grain and somewhat leafy. Deliciously long, mild barley sugar sweetness interlaced with gentle oak spice, creamy vanilla and orange citrus which all slowly fade out to leave some gentle, slightly drying, lingering honey and almond. Lingering aftertaste, bursting with almond, coconut, and a touch of maple syrup. Medium, clean, and increasingly dry, closing on vanilla cream, citrus zest, clove, and a crisp green apple note.
