Nose
A sophisticated "antique" aroma with beeswax and polished mahogany, soft orchard fruits (stewed pears, yellow plums, dried apricots), a faint, dusty note of old library books and vanilla bean. Also buttercream frosting, white flowers, simple white bread, mellow fudge and white chocolate jazzles, flat peaches and freshly scraped vanilla pods. Incredibly buttery, not overly sweet, with an artificial sugar aroma. Alcohol is well integrated, showing age.
Palate
Exceptionally silky and mouth-coating texture. Tastes of honeyed granola, orange marmalade, and soft toffee. Subtle spices emerge: nutmeg and a touch of white pepper, balanced by a refined waxy fruitiness. Also lemon and lime cordial, orange segments, milk chocolate buttons, a little coconut oil and something a little herbal and fresh. Light sugar syrup texture and a lovely balance of light peppery spice.
Finish
Gentle and lingering. Leaves a delicate trail of citrus oils, toasted hazelnuts, and a ghost of sweet oak. Also more vanilla, soft sponge cake, whipped cream, a shaving of white chocolate, and fresh apple.
