Nose
Lovely dark fruits and red berries, orange segments, spicy oak and subtle vanilla. Juicy, ripe pears and apples drizzled with honey join buttery oak and delicate notes of vanilla. Immediately malty and caramel-sweet with vanilla, fresh shortbread, yellow raisins, apricot, mango, a hint of dark forest berries, and perfumed floral notes.
Palate
A strong hit of alcohol then there's a wonderful drying oak, bursting with fruit and spice. Plenty of red fruits with a hint of tobacco leaf. Juicy fruits carry through with a dusting of sweet spice. Honey and cinder toffee sweetness balances peppery oaken warmth. Oily, almost syrupy, with fruity intensity, cherries, grainy sweetness, toffee, cloves, oak spice, and a small cup of café au lait.
Finish
Medium to long, drying oak with dark fruits and spice. The orchard fruits linger to the end, with a sprinkling of cinnamon, sweet malt and caramel. Long-lasting, warming, and full-bodied with a combination of baking cocoa and oak wood, accompanied by ripe mango and some herbal notes, most associated with licorice.
