Nose
Cinder toffee and baked apples with baking spice. The toffee slowly becomes chocolate-covered, with brown sugar and a touch of rye crispbread. Dark fruit and spice notes build – speculaas biscuits, dates, treacle toffee and a touch of black liquorice.
Palate
Intense, with dark sugars and lots of spice initially. That calms to reveal fruit-studded bread, dark chocolate and baked apples. Eccles cakes and buttered rum follow: intense, dark and spicy.
Finish
Brown sugar and spice linger.
