Description

Glentauchers was designed by Charles Doig and founded in 1897 by James Buchanan to provide malt whisky for his successful Black & White Blend. These days it is used by Pernod Ricard to train new members of staff in the basics of whisky production; as such, the distillery is as hands-on and mechanical as possible. Nose
Malt forward with custard creams and fresh barley. Dark chocolate fudge is covered in pungent fumes of cask strength alcohol but little/no nose prickle showcasing good integration.
Palate
Slightly oily palate with digestive biscuits, Sherry sweetness and oak spice. Marzipan and sultanas also in the mix with soft touches of vanilla.
Finish
Medium length leaving a warm and spicy finish with chocolate nibs.
