- Nose
- Honey and marmalade coat hazelnut and iced buns, before furniture wax, old leather and soft oak reveal. Soft and fragrant with notes of lime, honeydew, elderflower, lilac, mint, fennel, buttery shortbread, olive-oiled pizza crust, mineral and briny bite, soapstone, pink salt, green olives, macadamia nuts, and black pepper. Also, waxiness, bright, fresh, juicy fruits, citrus, orange juice, tropical melons, dry grass, cereal, and a faint menthol note with surprisingly no oak.
- Palate
- Thick and oily texture. Summer berry compote, honey and diced almonds run alongside spiced oak, salted butter, and a little stewed rhubarb. Herbal notes of coriander and peppermint give beautiful complexity. Waxed citrus peels, peach, pear jam, and curry leaves. Fragrant wood oils, strong peach tea, paraffin, peppery olive oil, grapefruit peels, thyme, phyllosilicates, slate, talc, mafic schists, graphite, sandalwood, rosemary, coriander seeds, and honey. An explosion of tropical and bright fruits, mango sorbet, candied pineapple, cantelope, herbal notes like pine needles, slight vanilla and caramel, and an extremely nice oak spice.
- Finish
- Long and delicate, touches of orange peel bitterness, milk chocolate and toasted almonds linger. Medium-length and sweet with huge elderflower, muscat grape, grapefruit, banana, cherries. Turns to sweet old oak, white chocolate, herbal tea, icing-sugar-dusted pastries, a little mint, chalky compressed-powder candies, and lemonade. Pure fruit, like a tropical smoothie with generic melon, mint leaves, dried oats. Fruit flavors slowly fade and transform into a warming cinnamon-like spice, noted as the longest finish experienced.
