Nose
Old and overripe fruit, with an almost cloying sweetness. Lots of good oak, but not overpowering in any way. Lots of furniture polish and leather. The fruity scents are like mango peel, brown banana and there's a hint of walnut. Lots and lots of aromas. Sweet bread, like a brioche. It's heavy, fruity and feinty. Basil, lemon, fresh cream, vegetable broth, pear. Complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate
Lemon custard, celery, parsley, fresh spring water, honeydew, with more melon notes as it sits. Very oily mouthfeel. Very smooth with a caramel texture. Virtually no sweetness, and a surprising bone dryness. Yeasty, with hint of fruit, tangerine, orange, nectarine. Quite some oak, crusty bread, brittle tree bark. Slightly funky.
Finish
Mellows very quickly, medium length, fruity and feinty. Papaya spritzer. Medium length & Spicy. Slightly less dry, with lots of fruit, stone fruit and citrus. Quite long, and a touch more fruity sweetness.
