Description

A former Highland malt distillery that was located in Stonehaven on the east coast of Scotland. Some of its single malt was bottled under license by John Gillon & Co in the 1970s and 1980s, however it was shut down by Distillers Company in 1985 and subsequently demolished. Nose
Delicately fragrant with sweet nectar, apples, pears, Seville oranges, and spices like cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. Hints of peat, waxed oak, vanilla, and a medicinal edge. Also notes of old books, raisins, black tea, tobacco, and fresh fruits with a bitter aspirin hint.
Palate
Mouth-coating and warming with honey, plums, raisins, jammy fruit, and wood influence. Notes of oranges and orange peels, coffee cream chocolates, and spices. Still hints of peat.
Finish
Slightly drying with lingering spices, cloves, and salt. Medium long, complex, cigary, with Earl Grey tea, juniper, and cumin. Extremely long.
