Nose
Toffee and spice with a slight citrus edge, wood smoke and orange oil, almond cookies and ocean water, grapefruit, a minerally white wine, fragrant mossy peat, vanilla beans and rope.
Palate
Surprisingly rough at first but quickly settling to a warm, slightly smokey taste with an underlying caramel sweetness. Easy to drink with notes of honey, graham crackers, vanilla, a touch of heather, and wood. Loaded with bitterness and tart grapefruit, salt, and oily greasy notes.
Finish
A fairly short finish of burnt fudge or caramel with a hint of oak. Spice, malt, graham cracker notes, citrusy tingle, rocky-mineral note, and a bitter, IPA-ish note.
