Description

From Suntory's Hakushu distillery, located deep in the forests of Mount Kaikomagatake in the Southern Japanese Alps, this 10 Year Old single malt whisky is known for its fresh, herbal, and gently smoky character. It was aged in a combination of American, Spanish, and Japanese Mizunara oak casks. This expression was part of Hakushu's core range before being discontinued around 2012-2018.

Creamy with notes of butterscotch, mint and custard. Hints of soft, fruity peat smoke, oak and strawberry jam. Crisp green apple, herbs, and a touch of pine.
Palate
Thick and rich, very vanilla-led, with notes of malt, grist and soft, oily peat. Apples, pear and citrus. Smooth flavors of honey, citrus zest, and light spices, with a gentle smoke.
Finish
Good finish, with notes of toffee apple and smoked prune juice. Gentle smoke that lingers. Long, spicy and smooth.
