Description
This is a rare Hakushu bottling from 2005, distilled in 1981, making it 24 years old. The name 'Kioke Shikomi' translates to 'matured in wooden tubs'. It is believed to be a vatting of single malts from Hakushu and Yamazaki distilleries, with a large proportion from Hakushu. This series was discontinued in 1999. The distillation technique employed the 'direct fire' method and innovative bamboo charcoal filtration.
