Description

A Japanese malt distillery located in the town of the same name. It developed immense collectable status following its closure in 2000 after the famous 'Card' series was bottled by Ichiro's Malt. Believed to be lost forever, its former owners rebuilt it and distilling commenced again in 2021. A brand of Japanese whisky bottlings from Ichiro Akuto's Venture Whisky. Its first releases were the now legendary 'Card' series, which became highly sought after by collectors after the Hanyu distillery closed in 2000 and Ichiro Akuto rescued the remaining stock.

Complex, rutty, dirty, Mizunara oiliness, smoke, earthy, with fragrant sweetness, caramel candy, and meaty notes, developing over time.
Palate
An explosion of flavors, silky sweetness, a big hit of Mizunara spices (sandalwood, incense), oak char, reminiscent of dark cherry/strawberry jam filled crepe with a waft of fresh cigar smoke, sweet, jam-like, with tingling spiciness and a woody background.
Finish
Rich and smooth, medium to long, leaving an airy fruit and spice flavor, with port adding a gentle sweetness.
