Description
The Hazelburn 14 Year Old is a single malt whisky produced at the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown. This edition, released in May 2023, was specifically bottled for the Springbank Open Day, a part of the Campbeltown Malts Festival. This release is characterized by its maturation in Oloroso sherry casks for 14 years and is bottled at 49.8% ABV. For a period, Campbeltown was the undisputed Whisky Capital of the World, boasting over 30 distilleries operating simultaneously at its peak. Locally available peat, barley and coal, coupled with a quick steamship service to Glasgow meant this thriving industry lasted into the early 20th Century.
