Description

Specially selected for Springbank Society Members by Distillery Manager Gavin McLachlan, this is an 11-year-old single malt, matured in a fresh bourbon barrel in December 2002 before being bottled at cask strength in October 2014. Only 204 bottles produced.

Nose
Vanilla, lemon zest, apricot jam and dry honey. Overripe pears, hay, butterscotch, faint hint of smoke, herbal notes, caramel fudge, almonds, pineapple, coconut, white chocolate.
Palate
Luscious citrusy mouthfeel. Gentle pink grapefruit, honey, soft spices, orange lemon lime marmalade. Thick mouthfeel, tropical notes with kiwi and fresh pineapple, toffee, vanilla, herbal touch, almonds, menthol. Smooth, creamy and oily mouth-feel. Peppery and fruity. Green notes, grass, hay and dried herbs. A touch of salt, and some mild oakiness - nutty.
Finish
Soft zesty citrus notes on a fulsome medium long finish. Long but a bit one-dimensional, herbal note, hint of menthol and pineapple. Warmish, long, and rather sweet. Sugary and minty note.
