Description

Unique due to its great age, this is a rare example of blended Islay whisky aged for 36 years. It rested for its full, generous maturation in a single premium white American oak cask. A very special peated contribution to House of Hazelwood's 'Legacy Collection', baring the name often given to the Isle of Islay- Queen of the Hebrides. Notes of citrus and smoke.

Nose
Sweet, sticky barbecued peaches and pineapple rings. A hint of fabric plaster. Burrata with fresh basil pesto and toasted hazelnuts. Mossy wood — both fresh and damp, and smoldering. Whipped cream infused with Madagascan vanilla, and pear tarte tatin dripping with caramel.
Palate
Medium-bodied. Slightly medicinal peat notes at first, fading to those juicy barbecued peaches. A hint of pencil lead. Dried basil and oregano. Grilled halloumi-style cheese and Serrano ham. Sweet roasted almonds and a whiff of aerated milk chocolate. Pineapple rings and coconut cream.
Finish
Smoked ham, charred peach, nuttiness and a hint of crème fraiche linger on, bound with honeyed sweetness.
